Counselling

I work as a Counsellor, specialising in working with adults (18+) who have a neurological condition and in some cases their families and friends.

My interest in neurological conditions includes stroke, head injury and progressive disorders. My unique combination of skills, as a counsellor and as a speech and language therapist, enables me to understand and support individuals with communication and cognitive difficulties and help those on whom they depend or are in their network. Sessions can be with individuals, couples and with wider family & friendship groups.

I offer sessions which are personal, confidential and flexible in terms of frequency, location, and style of delivery. Sessions are typically face to face but on occasion can be offered via online platforms e.g. Zoom. Within sessions I may draw on a range of skills and creative visual and tactile tools, including pictures, postcards, and 3D materials such as buttons and shells.

You may want to contact me if you are:

    • keen for a safe place to understand yourself and your new situation following a significant life event
    • in need of an opportunity to reflect on your emotional responses and how to make sense of them
    • wanting to consider alternative ways to approach your life and/or set yourself some new goals or targets
