I work as a Counsellor, specialising in working with adults (16+) who have a neurological condition and with people who have experienced significant life events.
My interest in neurological conditions includes stroke, head injury and progressive disorders. My unique combination of skills, as a Counsellor and as a Speech and Language Therapist, enables me to understand and support individuals with communication and cognitive difficulties and help those on whom they depend. Sessions can be with individuals, couples and with wider family & friendship groups. I also facilitate a monthly support group (usually in a pub in Teddington but currently online via Zoom) for people with neurological conditions called Culture Club.
My work with people who have experienced major life events includes living with acute and chronic health issues, relationship breakdown, redundancy, social stigma.
I offer sessions which are personal, confidential and flexible in terms of frequency, location, and style of delivery. Sessions can be offered via online platforms e.g. Zoom, MS Teams or face to face if safe to do so. Within sessions I may draw on a range of skills and creative visual and tactile tools, including pictures, postcards, and 3D materials such as buttons and shells.
